I am posting to give thanks. Thanks to Dana for loaning her bike for our photo shot and posing like a rock star in our jacket. Thanks to Rachael for posing for the shoot, doing my makeup for the shoot and teaching me to use a sewing machine! She has been an unyielding support for me and for Nelson Rides. Last but not least I give an extra special thanks out to Gus. Rachael’s boyfriend who for no particular reason at all has really given a lot to our project. Gus was our photographer, he is putting time into helping us pull together some last peices on the website, make the interface of the website better on the back end and also helping with the logo making it much better. Logo will be premiered with the jacket soon. Gus us a veteran Web Architect (I like that- architect
) and a talented and creative guy who also happens to believe in this product. I am so lucky to have such great, amazing friends. So …thanks. Link to photos here.

So the pieces are coming together- literally! I have our first batch of jackets and am waiting on my machine to be fixed before I do a couple minor adjustments. A good friend is helping us with the website and logo and from there we will be ready to start advertising and selling. I can not wait to get these stylish jackets on the backs of the curvy riders out there and hear back from them. Please check back regularly on our status and look for changes to the website. I am adding a photo from thew shoot- one of my faves. Ride safe- Jess

NR is going Global. As Brian and I are working hard to launch the line he makes a big decision to move to Europe! This news made me very sad, as Brian and I are BFFs, but I can not help but think if our product might have some interested consumers in Europe.
Please check back soon for photos and product description. You will be able to place your order online VER SOON!

This morning I got up early to get ready for the Nelson Rides photo shoot. I put on an outfit I would wear to ride and found my helmet- no too dusty. I could not find my knee/shin guards or gloves anywhere, so I wore my snowboarding gloves. I do not ever recommend anyone ride without full protective gear, but too many people were lined up to help for nothing so I made do. I got to Dana’s house and I wanted to ride her sportster, since I had never ridden on anything except forward controls and her Suzuki had mid-controls. But the Harley had the tightest clutch ever and my hands are not that strong, so I took Suzi and we rode to my house. MAN I miss it! It was so fun to ride and I miss riding like crazy now. We then met up with Rachael and Gus and Rachael is a professional make-up artist, so she made up look beautiful and we went to the park by my house. I was hesitant to ride the bike up onto the sidewalk, but we took the risk for the view. The fog was going to be nice for good lighting, but then it cleared, so there are a lot of squinty shots and hot highlights. Oh well. I think we got some very nice shots- THanks Gus! And I think Rachael just might have to be the face of Nelson Rides- she looks great in this jacket! The girls were wonderful models and we all had fun. Pics coming soon!

We have been through quite a few designers, and the design itself has changed quite a lot. I imagine our jacket will change a few more times before we finally introduce any new products. But for now I can tell you a lot of work went into this jacket. It has been crash-tested (by accident, by me) and it works. I am so happy to introduce to you the place in the road where safety intersects fashion. A cute, simple, protective jacket a full-figured female rider can be proud to wear. Product photos coming sooon!!!!

Well I am super excited to introduce you to Nelson Rides, and more specifically this website. A BIG thank you to Jessica and her team at Delicious Design Studio for pulling off a great new site! I had asked her for a very simple, easy to navigate website and she delivered! Prepare to see many more changes, some big (like the logo), some small (like blog posts) and of course soon photos and product information will be on here as well. You will also be able to order the Nelson Rides motorcycle jacket.
